Frequently Asked Questions
For group trips, participants must be at least 14 years old (minors must be accompanied by a parent/guardian or travel with an approved group). For individual volunteers traveling independently, the minimum age is 18.
No special skills are required for most trips! We provide training and guidance on-site. For medical brigades, healthcare professionals are preferred, but non-medical volunteers can assist with logistics and community health education.
Trip costs typically cover in-country transportation, accommodations, most meals, project materials, travel insurance, and FNE staff support. International airfare is not included but we can help with booking recommendations.

This varies by trip type. Infrastructure trips involve manual labor in warm climates, while education-focused trips are less physically demanding. We can accommodate various fitness levels—just let us know your needs.
