In 2022 FNE began a collaboration with the medical non-profit Mending Faces and the Cruz Jiminian Clinic in Santo Domingo. The first achievement to come out of this collaboration was a cleft palate surgical mission offering free surgery for 50 children from al l over the Dominican Republic. FNE coordinated al l pre and post surgical logistics as well as follow up speech therapy for the children. We will be returning to the DR for this mission in May and hope to expand this program to other sites. This first successful mission (and its long wait list of children with cleft palate) proved that the need is pressing in different locations of the country
